A dead end

"I wish I’d never married you!" Does this sentence sounds familiar to you? You may have heard it frequently in recent months. It hurts a lot to hear such words from the lips of your partner. But it shows what you have perhaps known secretly for a long time and have not wanted to admit –yes, youare in the middleof amarriage crisis! And yet it all started so romantically, the first meeting, the first kiss, the first erotic night, months of being in love, everything revolved around love. You saw the world through pink clouds, where you were floating, and then came the marriage proposal, which you had been waiting for so eagerly. Your dream came true, the white wedding, with the dream partner at side, the church bells, the bridesmaids, everything was perfect. The first child arrived, followed by the second, the beautiful house, the great car, your happiness was indescribable. You couldn’t believe that something like this could happen to you.

Then the beautiful dream burst like a soap bubble and all the expectations you had for your marriage melted away, like an ice-cream in the sun, like butter in a hot pan.

What happened?

You must have asked yourself this question so many times over the last months and found no answer.

There are apparently many reasons for a marriage crisis. Perhaps you are so deeply involved with your work that you have no time for your family. Or you don’t take the time to deeply discuss problems with your partner, pushing them to one side, because you are not in the state of mind to resolve them. Perhaps you are pathologically jealous or your love life has been disrupted. At the end of the day, there is basically only one reason- lack of attention and the ensuing fear of being alone.

Love is awareness, responsibility, caring, respect, knowledge and understanding of the other.

At this point, I want to ask you to go back mentally to the beginning of your relationship. Try to remember the first day you met. What was it that you so liked so much about your partner, and is it that that is now no longer present? Was it the special attention  gave to you, the charming way,  read every wishin in your eyes and manifested it moments later for you.
